Spread the love

Domaine la Bouïssiere, Gigondas 2018

Introduction

Set against the spectacular cliffs of the Dentelles de Montmirail, Domaine de la Bouïssière planted the first vines 60 years ago. This is the most northern of the important southern Rhône appellations. At 400 meters above sea level, the terrior produces mineral and intense wines.

A blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre harvested by hand, almost all of the grapes are de-stemmed, fermented for 30 days, and aged for 12 months in partly new barrels.

Grenache and Syrah lend character and delicacy to this racy, harmonious, fresh wine, with well-integrated tannins; resulting in a Gigondas that has a wonderful ability to develop complex aromatic and tasting notes over the years.
