Châteauneuf du Pape, Graveirette 2019

Introduction

Domaine de la Graveirette is located between Orange, Avignon and Carpentra in the beautiful region of Vaucluse. In 2015, the estate undertakes its conversion to biodynamic agriculture to attain the Demeter certification. Châteauneuf du Pape, one of the best known appellations of southern Rhône, is said to be worthy to rival the north’s Côte-Rôtie.

Growing in clay, sandy limestone, gravel, or at some parts, riverbed rocks, the majority of Châteauneuf are based on grenache that is sweetly ripe and tasting like homemade jam. Blended with syrah to deepen the colour and adding structure, Graveirette optimizes the earthy and gamy flavors of southern Rhône’s landscape.
